Book of the week.
Continuing my magazine of the week trend instead of book of the week, its time I let you in on my favorite magazine of all times: People Style Watch.
Think of it as your direct mail catalog for budget friendly shopping. Since those no longer exist and everything has gone online-- with this magazine it will keep you up to date on new affordable trends with an experts advice. I should actually work for this magazine because finding nice inexpensive trends is what I do...Or I like to call it, just being a professional shopper. Someone should really make this a profession-seriously? But with that being said, the staff who works for the magazine are pretty great at what they do. They tell you when the items hit stores, where to buy them and even how to wear the trend this season. They even cover affordable hair and face products and accessories like jewelry, bags, shoes, etc. What else could you ask for? So flip through an issue next time your waiting to check out at the grocery store. I bet you $10 dollars you'll buy it and then read through it at least twice. Happy Thursday!Wednesday, April 06, 2011
B is for Blog Obsession.
So Maggie got me on to this blog called: Atalantic-Pacific and the girl is great! Im obsessed and she makes me want to go shopping like everyday. But the best part is she is so great at mixing up her staple wardrobe pieces into so many different looks so you can take tips on how to get the most out of your clothes. AND her accessorizing is to die for-- because like me, I think she lives by the rule that you can never wear too many jewels! I posted a few of my favorite looks and the 2 jewelry items I am dying to get below but be sure click on her link to check out her blog. Happy Stalking!

Book of the week.
Thought I would change is up a little bit this week and post one of my favorite magazines that I subscribe to: Do it Yourself by Better Homes and Gardens.
This Magazine only features 4 issues a year but they are filled with so many great projects and ideas on how to organize, match colors, etc... I actually filed mine into a binder and made a book to reference later. I would post more pics from inside the pages but I can seem to find any online that are as great as looking through the actual issue. Instead here are some really great pillows I saw in a window on Park Ave two Sunday's ago I've been meaning to blog about. I wrote down the name from the tag and looked them up online when I got home. Im definitely buying these pillows for my great grandmothers couch I had re-done last year. I think they will give it an even more vintage looking flare and I love how it adds a personal touch.

Spring 2011 Beauty Products Must-Haves.
If theres one thing you learn about style when your on a budget... Its how to accessorize. Luckily, lip color and nail colors are such an accessory now days. You can update almost any look for spring by adding a pop of color to your nails and lips... And the best part- Its affordable and on trend this season! My best advice is to spend a few more dollars on a name brand instead of experimenting with 2 or 3 cheaper products from the drugstore... I promise it will save you money in the end.
So here are some of my personal favorite products that are on trend for spring and worthy of purchase:
Hot Pink Lips
MAC Girl About Town Lipstick ($14.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a vibrant shade of darkened, bright fuchsia pink. It has an amplified creme finish, which makes it a very creamy, opaque shade. This classic pink from MAC is a personal new favorite of mine and is said to be the best seller from the family of pinks. I can't believe this was my first Mac Lipstick purchase because it's such a great product that stays on for hours. Oh and only $15... Which is cheap for brand makeup and probably why Mac's lipsticks is their best selling item. Want more pink? Check out Maggie’s post: Pretty in Pink.
Playful Nail Colors
Here's another budget friendly and trendy way to add some fun to your look for spring! The turquoise blue pictured below is my personal favorite that I just bought last week. I actually found the whole Nicole by OPI- Justin Bieber line at Walgreens for $7.00. Nicole is a great line by Opi that has some wild new colors out. Other personal favorite brands are Essie and Opi. You can't go wrong with there colors and how well they stay on for $ 8.00 each.
