Peace Out Upper East Side.

The day has finally come ladies and gents...MOVING DAY!! This weekend I will officially say goodbye to my UES apt to become a downtown girl. I am very excited about my new quaint soho apartment but I would be lying if I didn't admit that I am having a little separation anxiety about trading in my uptown girl way of life. However, instead of mourning my departure I figured why not reminense by making list of the top 5 things I will miss the most about my last year spent as an Upper East Sider... (I'll love looking back on this in 10 years. haha)

1) My Apartment on Lexington Ave. (duh)

2) Famous neighbors Al Rocker and Madonna. (No biggie.)
Al Rockers home on my street just 2 buildings over. (Left)
Al just cruising our block on a Saturday Afternoon
(Slightly creepy I took a pic- Im aware) (Right)

Madonnas Gigantic Pad, just one street down from my Apt
(Pops and I posing in front of course)

3) Regular visits to the MET Museum in search of some inspiration and amazing people watching.

4) Hanging out with the gang at the one and only Dorrian's Red Hand

5) And the saddest one of all...
My cuz/best-friend & UES neighbor Robert (Tight) Strong who is leaving us to go back to Texas.
I feel so blessed to have made such a wonderful friend like Rob; My NYC experience would not have been the same without him here theses past 2 years...We're all going to miss you so much Robbie!

New Apartment Decorating Ideas.

It's true, Im cheating on fashion with furniture and home goods right now with my big move coming up on July 1st. As much as I love my quaint little neighborhood and cutsie pre-war building in the UES, my roomies and I have decided that its time to retire our 4 bedroom sorority style living situation. Even though I am a little sad that I will no longer be able to call myself an Upper East Sider (Tear,) moving downtown is not such a bad thing!  My dear friend Maggie and I will now reside in Soho in a 2 bedroom apt on Thompson and Spring. She is a thrifty and creative gal life myself so I cant wait to decorate our lil third floor pre-war apartment right in the heart of Soho... My goal is to be featured on ApartmentTherapy.com (Its true, I need to get a life.) But I kinda love it all and still can't believe I'm going to be living in the heart of Soho in less than three weeks!! I am such a lucky girl and counting my blessings everyday. Anywho, below are a few inspirations and pieces I have been eyeing online and in the market for our new home base. Pics to come of our big move, DIY projects and of course the final

Kitchen Inspiration- (Love the Table):

Ikea: Docksta Kichen Table - $179

DIY: Bar Cart
Inspiration:
Project in the Works:
My BF Kevin found this beauty on the street after work one day--- I will post pics once I give it a fresh coat of paint, a lil windex treatment and a styling session.

DIY: Coffee Table
Inspiration:
Project in the Works:
Also found this oval coffee table frame on the street in the UES. One layer of gold spray paint later and it looks good as new... Now all I need is a clear glass top, a stack of coffee table books, my DIY leopard Lucite Tray and Pink Peonies as decorative accents of course!

And of Course, Our New Building...
Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Look of the Week.

Since I have a nautical theme going on today....

Texas Weekend Project: Beach House Inspiration.

Im so excited, not only is it a beautiful Friday morning in NYC today but tomorrow I will be en route home to Texas to see my fam for a week. Don't get me wrong I'm in love with NYC but I'm passed due for a city escape and a visit back to my homeland.
Of course my biggest fear while being at home in the slow pace country is being bored. You would think that I would enjoy the change from my everyday city paced lifestyle but it's just not my style-- like my father, I have to constantly  be surrounded by the action and have at least a few projects in the works.
Luckily my parents are in the process of finishing out a condo they bought at the beach in Galveston  and starting to build a house for us to visit and one day sell. (My dad can never invest in anything without the intention of making  a profit- pretty smart man)
So this weekend I will be spending my time at the beach doing what I do best- shopping, designing, decorating and of course eating out with my A-team, mom and pops.
Since we are in the decorating faze with all of the furniture being delivered earlier this week, adding all the finishing touches and setting things up is all that's really left to do. My mom has already bought a few things here and there but there is still so much to be bought and organized to create our nautical oceanside vision. Below I wanted to share some of the inspirational photos I have collected... Stay tuned:  Before and After pictures and a Nautical Outfit Post to come next week. Happy weekend Ya'll!
